It has been six years since Marc Newson began collaborating with apparel label G-Star; this year they presented a limited edition capsule collection where the industrial designer translated his view of design into clothing. Newson applied what he called his "architectonic" approach, incorporating fluid lines and clean designs he is famous for into a series of jackets and sweaters. The unique construction, the only "decoration" is amplified through accentuated seams which sometimes unzip to reveal a contrast color beneath. Basic monotones of black, white and grey are applied to a mix of rich materials ranging from the classic leather and silk to the more futuristic laminated Goretex.
