Made by Bees Honeycomb vase (natural) IN A MUSEUM designer: Tomáš Gabzdil Libertiny design year: 2006 manufacturer: Studio Libertiny, the Netherlands materials: natural beeswax notes: Through this Rotterdam-based Slovakian designer's ingenious intervention, a colony of over 40,000 bees at the Entomology Reasearch Center of Wageningen University, the Netherlands, has created Libertiny's remarkable classically-shaped Honeycomb vase. The vegetation around Wageningen University is almost entirely flowers and blossoming fruit trees, which create pollens that result in very light yellow colored wax. A numbered certificate from the artist accompanies each example.
