Hella Jongerius was born in de Meern, the Netherlands in 1963. Soon after graduating from Design Academy Eindhoven in 1993, she gained notoriety as a member of Droog, the renowned Dutch design collective. In 2000 she founded JongeriusLab, her own Rotterdam-based company. Her work includes pieces in a wide range of mixed media such as polyurethane, latex, steel, felt, porcelain, glass, textiles, bronze, foam, plastics, and gold. Jongerius is represented in many national and international museums, including MoMA, SFMoMA, Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum, Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, and Centraal Museum Utrecht, as well as private collections. Moss has represented Jongerius's work continuously since 1995.
