the top of this table is made of hundreds of industrial extruded aluminum profiles, skillfully welded together by Edra's craftsmen with no additional support structure. These aluminum pieces are a carefully selected group of cut-offs from an aluminum producer in the vicinity of Edra's factory in Perigano Piza, Italy.

The aluminum contours are assembled together to represent Iraq's capital, Baghdad. Tarazi designed the table so that the most recognizable features of the city, the Tigris river and the main streets were as accurate as possible by using an aerial photograph of the city taken in 2003, just weeks before the US-led occupation of Iraq. The aluminum parts representing the buildings and structures in between the river and the main streets were assembled in an imaginary and futuristic way.
