hand-painted flowers from the manufactory's 18th century traditional designs.

Jongerius based her designs on authentic majolica domestic ceramics from the 17th and 18th century, but with an intriguing change: the earthenware is only partially immersed in opaque tin glaze and the remaining surfaces retain the natural stone-color underneath a very thin layer of transparent glazing.

On this background rustic adornments are hand-painted by in-house trained artists, who follow the painting techniques and traditions of original 11th century delftware.
