notes:
This small Prismatic Table of 1957 was Noguchi's last furniture design. The faceted aluminum piece was designed for Alcoa (the Aluminum Company of America) in black, but advertised as available with multicolor, interchangeable elements. The table was part of Alcoa’s forecast program to promote new uses for aluminum. While the Alcoa version has straight legs, Noguchi designed a second three-legged table where he multiplied the number of folds, creating a cubist table that recalls Japanese paper objects.
