This is the first book published on this leading international figure in contemporary design. The book reveals a decade-long design process in and of itself. The text, in the form of a dialogue between Jongerius and artist/writer/publicist Louise Schouwenberg, is layered on top of the images which begin on the cover and run throughout the book. Two longer essays by Schouwenberg – "Beyond Nostalgia" and "For the Love of Things" – are printed on vellum paper. Specially commissioned photographs by Dutch artist Joke Robaard show scenes of people working in the production studios and people using and living with the objects.
