Poetic License:
deliberate deviations from normally applicable rules and practices
For its 2010 spring exhibition, Moss presents a gallery-wide celebration of rule breaking, envelope pushing and taking chances. The work of each of the designers featured in Poetic License personifies the attribute by which the exhibition is defined. Each pushes the boundary of what’s been done before in a variety of media, and each invents new forms, new processes, new methodologies.
And Moss itself is breaking some rules by offering the overt juxtaposition of flat art (“art”) with studio and industrial design (“design”). Our partners in this adventure in breaking new ground include Fernando and Humberto Campana, Michele De Lucchi, Mathias Bengtsson, Michael Anastassiades, Oskar Zieta, Francois Roche, Philippe Starck, Maarten Baas, Studio Job, Peter Marigold, Philippe Parreno, Finn Magee, Josh Smith, and Robert Mapplethorpe.
