The Campana Brothers building Favela Wall at Moss Gallery
"If life were such that the American artists Jackson Pollack and Alexander Calder had been romantically involved, moved to Brazil, and through a miracle, had produced two 'love children', these siblings would no doubt have been Humberto and Fernando Campana." This is Murray Moss's way of describing the naturally spontaneous, impulsive, vital and so elegantly disciplined work of these brothers from Sao Paolo. The Campana brothers use indigenous materials and techniques to create an amazing range of furniture, objects and spaces. Moss Gallery is proud to have their first permanent installation in the US as part of the architecture of the gallery. Fernando and Humberto created the "favela mural" in December 2004.
